Foundations of TWIM Retreats

TWIM courses are led by trained and certified instructors. Participants at all levels receive clear and precise instruction with ongoing support. This is why progress is smooth entering into and through the stages of awakening.

  • Ethical conduct (sīla): Participants maintain a clear code of behavior. This stabilizes the mind and supports calm awareness.

  • Right Effort with the Six Rs: Students learn the Four Right Efforts using the Six Rs method. This approach forms a core principle of early Buddhist practice.

  • Cultivation of the Brahmavihāras: Practice develops loving-kindness (mettā), compassion, altruistic joy, and equanimity.

  • Stages of meditation (jhāna): Participants experience tranquility (samatha), natural stillness (samādhi), and insight (vipassanā), leading toward awakening (nibbāna).

  • Daily one-on-one interviews: provide personalized guidance to remove obstacles for development of the awakening factors

Together, these elements create a reliable path for discovery of deep meditation developend by wisdom, and integration into daily life.
